      This webinar featured fresh insights into the day-to-day realities of northern Canadians and Icelandic citizens with respect to accessing nutritious and affordable food. Panelists from leading research institutions and the private sector unpacked the similarities and differences between these two parallel contexts. They discussed the defining characteristics of food production in Iceland; shared information on how the private sector is responding to demand for healthy and affordable food in both Iceland and the Canadian north; spoke about the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations 2023 published by the Nordic Council of Ministers; and shared youth perspectives on improving access to healthy food in northern contexts.

      Early voting for the parliamentary elections to the Icelandic parliament, Althingi, which will take place on 30 November 2024, will begin on Thursday 7 November 2024. Ballots must arrive in the Icelandic municipality at which the voter is registered before polls close on November 30th, 2024.
