Embassy of Iceland Celebrates Iceland’s National Day and Bids Farewell to Ambassador Þórir Ibsen

The Embassy of Iceland celebrated Iceland’s National Day with a festive reception that also marked the farewell of Ambassador Þórir Ibsen and his wife, Dominique Ambroise Ibsen, as they conclude a successful five-year posting in China.

The event was attended by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Hua Chunying as Guest of Honour and welcomed more than 200 guests.

The celebration took place during a special year for Iceland and China, as the two countries mark 55 years of diplomatic relations.

The evening reflected the strong and longstanding friendship between our nations and provided an opportunity to recognize the many milestones achieved during Ambassador Ibsen’s tenure.

The Embassy extends its sincere gratitude to its generous sponsors whose support helped make the event a great success.
