Alþjóðagjaldeyrissjóðurinn gerir úttekt á efnahagslífi aðildarlanda á eins til tveggja ára fresti á grundvelli 4. greinar stofnsáttmálans (e. Article IV Consultation). Sendinefnd frá Alþjóðagjaldeyrissjóðnum var hér á landi í september síðastliðnum til viðræðna við íslensk stjórnvöld og ýmsa hagsmunaaðila.
